Kilcommon/Rearcross FC U-14's 0 - Nenagh AFC 'B' 5

Kilcommon/Rearcross U-14’s went under to Nenagh AFC ‘B’ on a five nil score line on Saturday morning. The visitors made the brighter start and threatened early on as Colm Lenihan raced off his line to save. Nenagh hit the front after Cillian Scully scored from the edge of the box. It was two nil to the Brickfields outfit when Cian Fallon’s low driver finished in the net. Kilcommon/Rearcross were under the cosh at this stage and it took an Eoin Sheldon tackle to prevent at third goal. The Slieve Felim side were thrown a life line two minutes before the break when a good play by Eimear Carey forced the concession of a penalty, however the resulting spot kick dragged wide of the mark. Kilcommon/Rearcross made a promising start to the second half but were unable to open their account. The away team stretched their lead to three with a Tom McCutchen goal who went on to add two further goals to complete his hat-trick. Cormac Sheehy played most of second half in goals for Kilcommon/Rearcross and turned in a splendid display with some outstanding saves to leave a final scoreline of five nil in favour of the Ormond side.
